Welcome to the Metaverse!
Long before people started quietly backing away from their avatars, we brought the Metaverse to life inside Xfinity Retail. Our challenge? Show customers why Xfinity’s “unbeatable internet” could make even the most pixelated virtual world run smoother than a 100-meter dash on fiber.
The solution: a free-standing, in-store VR experience that invited visitors to step inside a custom Metaverse environment, no blockchain wallet or NFT wardrobe required. With a headset on, customers could explore a playful, branded world that highlighted how Xfinity’s speed, reliability, and low latency made virtual living feel almost as good as the real thing (minus the awkward floating torsos).
It was part demo, part spectacle, and part proof that even if the Metaverse didn’t exactly become the future, we could still sell a big, bold idea to the client, and have a lot of fun making it happen.
